Introducing the big cheese – Mr. Karan Tanna, Founder CEO of YTH

The journey from engineering automobiles to engineering menus.

After receiving a B.E. degree in Automobile Engineering, Karan Tanna commenced his professional journey with General Motors India. Later, he also took up the opportunity to serve as a consultant with McKinsey and Co.

After 4 years of work experience with multinational companies, Karan chose to follow his heart – or should we say stomach - and stepped into the Food & Beverages sector.

First steps as a restaurateur. / Learning the tricks of the trade.

A bistro in Ahmedabad with seating for 150 people was Karan’s first pet project.

Consequently, he launched a bakery & commissary that delivered wholesome food to airports, 5 star hospitals & other institutions.

In 2014, Karan developed a strategic understanding with the promoters of Kutchi King – a growing but unorganised local brand. He turned around its business model and developed comprehensive standard operating processes for the outlets, making it more scalable and profitable.

Karan played a key role in expanding the brand to Maharashtra & Rajasthan and bowed out after helping Kutchi King expand its business to 200 outlets – a landmark figure.

The inception of Yellow Tie Hospitality Management!

Karan believed that F&B franchising in India is in its infancy as the country is yet to have a single sustainable local brand. This, to him, was an opportunity to change the scenario.

He harnessed his understanding and experience of the Indian F&B franchise market to found Yellow Tie Hospitality Management LLP in Dec 2015.

Since then, Karan and Yellow Tie Hospitality Management has grown phenomenally. Forbes India featured him as one of India’s most promising entrepreneurs under the age of 30, making Karan and Yellow Tie names to reckon with.

  Karan Tanna was a finalist of Forbes 30 under 30 batch of 2016.
